Green!!!

i am not really happy with this one, but I don't have time to try out anything else........The stamp is an Inkadinkado stamp......the stamped image is inspired by this.......
So much green reminds me of Mussoorie, where my husband grew up.
Mussoorie is a picturesque hill town in the foot hills of the Himalayas in north India, we visited the place in the second week of July (July is usually a monsoon month with incessant rain and hail storms but we were fortunate to see nothing of that). I want to share a few pictures of the place........

It is a popular tourist destination in the summers for north Indians.....but I have the good fortunate of exploring the place like a local........While in Mussoorie we occupy ourselves with longs walks in the wilderness (where tourists don't venture) and just sitting and staring at the snow capped peaks in the distance. It must have been great growing up in such a place!
Oh I almost forgot to mention this card mention this card is inspired by card patterns sketch #74

Baby Boy Scrapbook

I made this for my neighbor whose baby boy turned one last week, his name is Yatharth.I have used a lot a ribbon and lace border....my favorite these days and also some broad crochet lace(its a great way to quickly fill up a card/layout). I've also used a lot of fun stickers, I just love alphabet stickers, saves me the bother of stamping.
Happy crafting!

Vintage Instant Book

I am back after a week's break, I had been to Mussoorie (my husband's native place). On the way back I spent a day in Delhi and guess what......I went craft shopping!!! I bought a whole lot of stuff and the entire credit goes to Shalini for telling where to shop.......I envy carfters in Delhi.......the place is a gold mine........but one thing's for sure I don't think I can survive there......it is soooooooooooo hot n humid. I didn't have internet access so couldn't my bloglist.......will do so soon.....
Considering the amount of stuff I got I started crafting within an hour of reaching home...Making an instant book had been on my mind ever since I saw this tutorial.

Here's my take on it......some stamping, masking.....the alphabets were a gift from Yvonne......

Baby Layout

This is a baby boy layout, since I didn't have any baby pictures of my nephew I used my niece's pictures......The first one shows her just a couple of minutes after she was born.
I had a hard time trying to brighten up an otherwise dull background patterned paper........the pin, bottle and "baby" are cuttlebug diecuts, some 3-D stickers, ric rac and gingham ribbon.....
Have a great weekend!

Sunshine

This is the first layout I've made featuring my niece. It's an entirely whimsical one, I had no idea what I was doing or why I put sea life stickers with paper doilies or why I called it Sunshine, but I just love the end result :) . The picture is not great though...

Blog Candy up for Grabs

This month we have blog candy up for grabs by 3 extremely talented bloggers from India!
The first one is from Ujjwal. She is getting married this month and wants to share her happiness. Ujjwal is extremely creative, she makes exquisite cards (where sometimes even the background is hand-drawn). I love how she decorates the inside of her cards........

The second candy up for grabs is by Anita. I am a huge admirer of the punched paper flowers that she makes.....

Karuna is also offering some surprise candy......Karuna is India's Yulia Brodskaya in the making.......she is clearly one of the most talented quillers that I know........

Do go and check out the work of these talented ladies.......

Pink!

Pink is my favorite color, along with black n white.....some more paper doilies (I am going overboard with them :P), I have inked and glittered the edges (what looks like tiny specs of dirt at the edges is actually glitter, it looks much better on the card).
The background for this one has been embossed using Fiskars Texture Plates with my cuttlebug (I spritzed the paper with water first, the sandwich I used was (bottom to top) - 'A' plate, mouse pad, Fiskars Texture Plate, paper to be embossed, 'C' plate, a piece of card-stock).
Both the cards have been inspired by Card Patterns sketch #71

Thanks for looking!

Paper Doily

Finally finally......I got some paper doilies (courtesy Yvonne...twice the goodie bags she sent to me have been lost in transition, she has sent another one on both occasions.......she is such a sweetheart!)
This is a really quick card, used some pleated ribbon, a few rolled organza blossoms (they were white, I inked them green n blue) and a paper doily.
This is loosely inspired by Card Patterns sketch #70.

Have a great weekend!
