My First 10 minute card

This is my first less than 10 minutes card, made it in 9 mins. I  don't think it turned out so well but I did enjoy making it a lot. Have used Christmas themed chipboard and sentiments.

Happy Weekend!

Wishing everyone a very happy last weekend of 2012! What are plans for New Year's eve? I'll be spending mine at work............well it's not so bad....
This is what I came up with last night, I am new to making CAS cards and feel there is a lot of room for improvement, still like how this one turned out. It is based on this week's sketch at Retro Sketches,
I've taken a mirror image of the sketch. The flower and stem dies are from PTI, so is the sentiment on the inside.

My Favorite colors

Wish you all a Merry Christmas and a very happy new year!

Black and White are my favorite colors, I like them on their on own and also as a combination...this is a big A5 size card....

I have used this card from CASE Study for inspiration,
I just loved the idea of 2 bows with 2 ribbons, ofcourse mine aren't so elegant, I had to chop them a bit to show the sentiment below. The gorgeous metal butterfly is from a RAK from Mallika.....here's a picture of the beautiful stuff she sent and yes she sent them in that gorgeous vintage box.....thanks so much girlie!

Thank You

Thank you so much everyone for all the love and good wishes.........it feels great to be back to blogging...
This is the first time I tried some serious distressing and I absolutely love the result......I used water color paper to make the tag on the card, lots of distressing, some masking, stamping and heat embossing......I managed to burn some of the left edge of the tag while heat embossing so had to hide behind the butterfly :P The butterflies are stamped and colored with copics, the spots on the bigger butterfly have been colored with a versamaker and heat embossed with gold embossing powder, here's a closer look.
I even made a matching envelope, here's a picture of the inside of the card along with the envelope.

Heartbroken

FYI: I am disabling anonymous comments from my blog as my blog is being spammed by random anonymous comments.

Some of you might be aware that I took up a new job recently, to reward myself on getting the job I went ahead and placed an extravagant order from Simon Stays Stamp, I have never placed such a big international order ever, this was on 11th November 2012 and guess what I am still waiting for the parcel to arrive :( ......I have checked with the foreign post office customs office in Bangalore and also at the local post office without any luck.....now I can assume the parcel is lost.....I am heartbroken :((....I lost a lot of money + I really really wanted those craft goodies (can we ever have enough craft supplies?)
I also ordered some dies from blitsy.com and My Favorite Things and luckily both the parcels arrived safely....the paper bow is die-cut from this dainty bows MFT Die-namics die......absolutely love it....
This card is inspired from this sketch from retro sketches
and from this week's challenge at CAS-ual Fridays - CFC82
and from The Play Date Cafe PDCC161

Christmas Card and Tag

I made a card after a very long time, it seems I have completely lost my card making mojo, it took me many many hours to come up with this.......I decided to go the CAS way as I love the clean lines and neatness of CAS cards and also because I thought making one would comparatively consume less time comparatively .....I couldn't have been further from the truth......
I've used chipboard Christmas themed die-cuts on the card and the tag...have added some Pie-Lane bling. The PP is from echo park, I have covered it with tattered angels glimmer mist in a really messy manner.
Here is the tag, I just loved making it.....love the reindeer chipboard embellishment

Kriti's First Birthday

I have been MIA for so long now that I feel like I'm back to my initial blogging days...I need to restart blogging regularly and visiting/commenting on blogs......I have resolved to make and post atleast 2 cards a week, I am also taking a break from crafting on order, even though I enjoy the love and appreciation (+ it pays for new supplies) it leaves me with no time to try new things...
Ok now for some crafty stuff, we celebrated Kriti's first birthday (yes she is one already!) last Sunday, I had big plans to make ball themed invites, favors, decorations (Balls are Kriti's favorite toys).....but couldn't do even one of them due to lack to time and planning, I know I'm a bad Mum :( .......I did somehow manage to make some handstamped invites for the neighbors and personalized tags for the return gifts. I was not entirely happy with how they turned out but they had to do.....will surely do better next year. The stamp and die set is from PTI, it's called "Little Princess", I've stamped it with Fired Brick distress ink.....added some green rick rack to create a grounded castle. The label die is from Itsy Bitsy, was a bit apprehensive before buying because I hadn't heard of the brand, but it a great die (it even embosses) at the price.
I printed out the personalized messages for the tags and added some washi tape and flowers for the girls (stars for the boys).
The pictures are not great, they do look a tad better IRL.
Here's a picture of the her birthday cake and decoration, you can spot the CD "Kriti" banner from here.
Here is really bad picture of Kriti n me, sadly this is all I have.
Thanks for still visiting my blog, even though I don't say so often I really appreciate it.
Hugs,
Juhi
