Last week’s updates

Well we finally got curtains for my room last week. Me and my husband, Aridaman have been curtain hunting for a long time, somehow we never seemed to agree on any pattern! I also got loads of transparent plastic boxes to store all the scraps and odds and ends that I am not able to let go off. This is what my work corner looks like now.........I guess I should have taken a picture of what it looked like earlier for you to appreciate the difference.......
I also got a cutting mat.........up till now I had been doing all my craft cutting over old newspapers as I was under the impression that cutting mats are not available in India, I just happened to spot it while walking out of the local craft store.........I’m very excited about last week’s shopping......I still have get these organized...........and these too......any suggestions about how to store ribbon rolls?

Now to some cards I made last week. This one is for Daring Cardmakers........the dare this week is to use something related to music. I have used a tiny musical note punch for the notes........the image of the girl is from Arthur’s Free Clipart. I got this link from Carol’s blog. I have colored the image with oil pastels.
I made this one for LSC220 Life's a beach (SPLITCOASTSTAMPERS). I stuck real sea shells which I had handpicked from the beaches of Goa; Aridaman made the background paper by placing wet teabags on watercolor paper, isn’t it neat? I love how this has turned out but cannot think of a good sentiment to go with it...plzzzzzzz do leave a comment on this post if you can think of some nice sentiment to go with this card......I’ll appreciate it.

Finally this one is for card patterns........I have again used an image from Arthur’s Free Clipart......I just couldn’t resist using this adorable little girl on my card.........

  1. Love the first one the most....

  2. Love the cards. OMG, Juhi, were you working without a cutting mat all this while? I am feeling bad I never asked... it has always been available here... no Scor-Pal though, but you I will post back... :-)
And thnk you for the clipart link. It should make up for the lack of stamps around here ;-)

  3. Love your cards. OMG! Were you working without a cutting mat, Juhi? That must have been very difficult!!!? Wonder why I never asked... next time please ask me or anyone else if you are wondering if something's available in India!! I have been hunting stuff in the markets here for more than a year, maybe able to help.

  4. What adorable cards! Love your take on the CP sketch this week.

And your craft area is so cozy. Love those curtains! You will adore your cutting mat. I have two that I rotate between, couldn't live without them.

For ribbon, I have a ribbon ring and adore it. I store my rolls in a large drawer organized by color and that seems to help keep it under control.

  5. Your daring card maker's challenge card is just too cute. Love it.

  6. Very cute cards!! Your curtains look great too!!

  7. Such sweet cards Juha and such pretty colours.

Thanks for joining in with the DCM's dare this week.

  8. I stumbled across your blog, and so so so glad I did :) Pretty stuff (:

  9. Yo Juhi! gr8 work!
