I am beyond excited and honored to be a part of Altenew's latest release.
Altenew NEW Year-End Celebration Collection Die Collection
I do not consider myself to be much of a die person, but this release has me converted! Working with the dies was pure joy. I created cards with no stamping on them, which, if you know me, is something that rarely happens!
Gold Band Lily Card
For my first card, I used the Gold Band Lily Die-set to create a Hachi Lily. I die cut the layers with watercolor cardstock and colored in the layers with a mix of watercolor and watercolor markers. I added a Nesting Slim labels die cut to ground the lily. I find the Nesting Slim labels die to be extremely versatile, especially for the floral cards that I like to create. The sentiment is a die cut from the Mega Stamp Frames Die Set. To finish my card I mounted the flower panel onto an ombre watercolored background that I created with the Altenew 24 pan artist watercolor pan set.
Fancy Yay Card
Featuring: My second card features the Fancy Yay Die and the Decorative Tags Die Sets from the new release. I used the inlaid die-cutting technique to create the watercolored rose on the tag. Watercoloring is my favorite card-making technique and I tend to use it in every card that I create, this one is no different. I diecut a watercolor background that I was not very happy about with the Altenew Gradient Stripe Die and used the negatives from the die-cut to create the background for my card. I finished the card by added the gorgeous 'Yay' diecut with gold shimmer cardstock.

My final card features the Love Daisies and the Mega Stamp Frames Dies from the new release. The daisies were a lot of fun to put together, I used some bright and happy colors to create some happy blooms. As with the previous 2 cards, I die-cut the flower layers with watercolor cardstock and colored in the layers with watercolor/watercolor markers. I used the Mega Stamp Frames Die cuts to frame the flowers. I really like how fun and happy this card turned out and I hope it brightens someone's day as it did mine!

ReplyDeleteYou have showcased the dies in this release really well. I often get stuck creating layered die cuts because I think I need lots of shades of each color to build them. I really like the idea of die cutting all the components from watercolor paper and quickly coloring each layer. I don't need to worry about going outside the lines and I can create a lot of shades of each color. Great idea!
I say "Yay!" to your Fancy Yay card. So pretty and the daisy card design too.
ReplyDeleteGreat project shares. Nice combination of elements.
