A Blog Named Hero Challenge: Monochromatic

Hello everyone! I'm so happy to be back for another term at A Blog Named Hero. This month's challenge theme is - Monochromatic.
I've used one of my all-time favorite Hero Arts Stamp Sets - Color Layering Sea Horse to make an ocean themed shaker card.

I created the background by sprinkling Ken Oliver Color Burst powder on watercolor paper and spraying water on it.

Hop on over to the A Blog Named Hero Blog to check what my teamies have created and join the fun! We can't wait to see what you create using your Hero Arts products.

A Blog Named Hero Challenge: Summertime Fun

Hello everyone! I'm back with the May Challenge for the A Blog Named Hero. This month's theme is - Summertime Fun.
It's summer here in California and Magnolias are in bloom everywhere! I live on a street lined with Magnolia trees, I love the giant flowers. I would like to get a closer look, but unfortunately, they are all so high up!
I've used the gorgeous Hero Florals Magnolia Stamp and watercolored it with Daniel Smith Watercolors. I'm experimenting with different watercolors and just starting out with Daniel Smiths.

A Blog Named Hero Challenge: Watercolor

NOTE: Scroll down to the next post for the Hero Arts 2018 Summer Catalog Blog Hop post.

Hello everyone! I'm back with the May Challenge for the A Blog Named Hero. This month's theme is - Watercolor. We would like to see some watercoloring on your cards.
Watercoloring is my favorite coloring technique and lately, I've been experimenting with no line watercoloring. I've tried no line watercoloring on the beautiful Floral Nasturtiums from Hero Arts.

I enjoyed the process of coloring but I am not very happy with the end result. No line watercoloring is a bit of hit or miss for me right now, I love the results sometimes and not so much at other times. I guess I just have to keep practicing.

You should have arrived from the wonderful Jeanne Jachna's blog. If you're just stopping by you don't want to miss out on all the fun! You can start from the beginning at the Hero Arts Blog
Hero Arts will be giving away two $50 shopping sprees, randomly drawn from comments left across all blogs in the hop. Please comment by Sunday, May 20th at 11:59pm PST. The winners will be announced on the Hero Arts blog the week after commenting closes.
Now, over to my cards. My first card features the beautiful Floral Nasturtium stamp set from the release.

I have been working on my watercoloring skills and the flowers just perfect for watercoloring. They were such a delight to watercolor. I stamped the flowers in black ink off the edge of a watercolor cardstock panel once and then a second time with some masking.

I used Windsor and Newton watercolors to paint the flowers and love the results! The colors I used are based on this image of blooming Nasturtiums that I found on the internet.

I really loved the pop of bright pink in the midst of reds, oranges and yellows and that is what I've tried to replicate on the card.

My second card features the super cute Fennec the Fox Stamp set. I love the how the sentiments go perfectly with the images!

The images are watercolored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. The background is a beautifully textured glittered piece of scrap wallpaper. I got it from an upcycling warehouse I discovered in my neighborhood recently.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Your next stop on the hop is the awesome Karen Bull.

Here's the entire hop list in case you get lost along the way

Put a Flower on it!

Hello everyone! I'm back with the April Challenge for the A Blog Named Hero. This month's theme is - Put a FLower on it. We want you to make a card with at least a flower on it.
There will be two prizes each month!  Thanks to the generosity of Hero Arts, our chosen challenge winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to Hero Arts and a random challenge entry will receive a $25 gift certificate!  Please check out our challenge rules so that we don’t have to disqualify anyone from our prizes!  The challenge will close May 10th so you have plenty of time to get crafty!
Here's what I came up with.

I've used the Large Stencil Flower cling stamp from Hero Arts, which unfortunately is retired now, but there are plenty of other large floral stamps available at Hero Arts which will work just as fine!
I stamped the image with wild honey distress ink and watercolored it with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and Derwent Inktense Color Pencils. I messed the center of the flower so I tried to salvage it with some chunky glitter, what do you think, did I manage to salvage it?
Hop on over to the A Blog Named Hero Blog to check what my teammies have created and join the fun!
