A few things to be happy about!

I've had a very busy last few weeks, at work that is.  And to add to my blues even though I did buy some new craft supplies I haven't got time to take them out of their packaging :(
Anyway I do a have few happy news to share, 2 of my cards won at 2 different challenges:
This one was chosen as the ROCKstar in retrosketches #53
and this card came third at the Quirky Crafts Challenge #5 - Let's Make a Quirky Mess - I won three gorgeous digital images, can't wait to play with them, though I'm not sure when that'll be :(
Both the wins are a big deal for me.
And another piece of good news is that I am going on a short vacation to visit my parents on Thursday woho!!
Happy crafting!

Framed!

A very quick blog post to show 2 very quick cards....I've used an embossing folder from itsy bitsy for the first card. I've used distress markers directly on the stamp, the second card is made using the second impression from the same inked stamp.

Baby Boy Chipboard Mini Album

I made this at the shortest notice possible, completed it in 6 hours. An old neighbor called on Friday night and said that she'd be visiting us the next day......making a mini for her baby boy had been on my crafty thing to do list for a long time... so I spent 3 hrs on it on Friday night and another 3 on Saturday morning. I am extremely happy with how it turned out.
For the first time I've used papers and quotes exclusively from one paper pack, DCWV Baby Boy Stack that I got from Itsy Bitsy and stuck with a consistent color scheme. The alpha stickers are also from Itsy Bitsy.

The cute baby wooden embellishments are from Jovi's Store, so are the wooden buttons.
This book is inspired by this album. I discovered Phyllis's site recently and am in love with all of her work.
Here's a closer look at some of the tags.
So this is one baby (or rather one mum) crossed out from my long list of babies (or mommies) who'll be getting mini albums made by me :)
Thanks for visiting!

Night landscape

I love how this card turned out, it looks so much better IRL! The background is made from scratch using distress inks. I am having so much fun with water-color paper and distress inks wonder why I didn't try it earlier. I inked watercolor paper with 3 distress inks (I'm too lazy to list them out!) , sprinkled some water on it and let the inks run into each other.
The scene is die using Memory Crafts Modern Landscape die, the possibilities are endless with this die.
I also added a punched out moon and some teeny tiny stars to complete the night landscape.

Go for what you want

Coming with good blog post titles is tough for me as would be clear from this one title :P.

I've had this un-embellished (I'm not sure if such a word exists!) photo frame (handmade from scratch by me) with me for a couple years.....just added some layered flowers, butterflies and a quote printed on vellum to finish it off.

Happy Birthday!

I am enjoying my CAS card making journey thoroughly....here is another quick card (it took me an hour to make)...the card stock is the same as for the card in my previous post....it is handmade paper which comes pre-embossed and has a beautiful shine too, the flower is also a leftover from that card!

Flower Overload

I finally made flowers using distress inks and I love them, so watch out for more! These flowers are inspired by Hussena's gorgeous distressed blooms....I made mine by die cutting water color paper with this flower die from MFT

So here I am sharing my project for Lulupu Challenge #10 - Let's Celebrate.
I've used this gorgeous card by Indira as an inspiration
love love love what she has done with the punched shapes. I'm sure I could have never come up with anything even close to this...I chose this because I needed something to push me out of my comfort zone and trust me, it did!
It took me a while but I finally came up with flowers made using 3 different sizes of punched stars.
Flowers are my favorite embellishments and I'm always on the lookout of something new and these fit the bill perfectly ....they were a lot of fun to make and I love how they turned out.

Continue the Lulupu Design Team Blog Hop with the next post on 5th March by Indira Tanwar. So here is the list to help you track the blog hop ending on 9th March.
