Hello everyone, and welcome to another Happy Little Stampers Mixed Media Challenge. The theme for this month is "texture". #PTI color pop florals with textured woodgrain backgroundI've used a stencil with texture paste to create a dimensional woodgrain background for my card. Once it was dry I sprayed some Peacock Feathers distress spray stain and I absolutely love how it turned out! Finished my card with some diecut flowers and sentiment.

Mixed Media Card with Crafter's Workshop stencils and Happy Little Stampers stamps

Here's my card. I made the background with stencils and inking with a lot of distress inks. The larger butterfly is stenciled (The Crafter's Workshop Layered Butterflies), I added some dimension to the wings with Faber Castell Gold Texture Luxe. Stamped another butterfly and the sentiment, both from the Butterfly Birthday Happy Little Stampers set and outlined the large butterfly and card edges with a black gelato.

HLS March Mixed Media Challenge - Water

Hello everyone! Welcome to another edition of the Happy Little Stampers Mixed Media Challenge, the theme for March is Water.
Use water on your mixed media projects, you can interpret it anyway you like, use Faber Castell Gelatos with water or use distress stains with water, or any other medium with water! You can make anything you like - this challenge is definitely not limited to cards!
The challenge is sponsored by Happy Little Stampers
The winner will get one stamp set from HLS. You don't have to use HLS stamps to enter.
Handstamped birthday card using faber castell gelatos on glossy cardstock, using stamps from Happy Little Stampers
For my card I used Faber Castell Gelatos with water on smooth, glossy card stock. I first scribbled onto the glossy cardstock with 3 shades of gelatos and then added some water and blended the colors a bit with my fingers. Then I added big drops of water onto the colored area with a big round brush. Since the cardstock is glossy it does not absorb the water and we get gorgeous colored puddles. I moved the water around on the background and then dried it with a heat gun. I finally stamped the sentiment from the EveryDay Sentiments stampset from Happy Little Stampers and heat embossed it. I also added some chevron patterns from the Mix Mash set also from Happy Little Stampers and finally finished the card with some glitter enamel dots.

Mixed Media Card with Happy Little Stampers Butterfly Birthday Stamps
For my card I first created a quick background by applying some thinned down peeled paint distress paint with a flat brush. Once it dried I stamped the butterfly and the sentiment on top of it, both the stamps are from the HLS Butterfly Birthday stamp set. I colored in the butterfly with Art Anthology Sorbet Dimensional paint with a paint brush and dabbed it with a piece of tissue to create some fun texture. I finished the card with some black soot distress paint splatters and a few sequins.

Share Handmade Kindness

Happy Saturday! I hope everyone's having a great Saturday. Today I'm sharing a mixed media canvas I made for a friend;
as a few of you might know I moved to Singapore recently. Right after we moved here, my husband had to travel for work for 5 weeks, leaving me and my LO in a new place with no friends or family around. I was lucky enough to meet my friend at this time, she never let me feel alone in a new place, invited us on play dates, introduced me to her friends and helped me find my way around the neighborhood.....
After reading about Jennifer Mcguire's "Share Handmade Kindness" challenge for friends and family,
I just knew I had to make something for her.
Even though I'm just a beginner when it comes to mixed media, I enjoyed adding all the layers and textures on this canvas.....and love how it turned out.....and the best part is the photo is not fixed and can be changed.
