Pink and Blue

I made this for a colleague who wanted to gift it to her mother in law. She wanted a cute card in pink and blue, it took me some time to figure out what to make. In the end I landed up using all my favorite stuff, lace, butterfly, corrugated cardboard, foam flower and some stitching!!
I have stitched the blue lace to the card stock to create a frilly effect.......
This is what the inside of the card looks likeThanks for looking!

These are a Few of My Favourite Things

I loved this week's challenge at Daring Cardmakers which is to make a card using atleast 5 of your favorite papers, embellishments, tools and styles etc.
I have used my favorite corrugated cardboard, 3-D stickers, stitching, butterfly, and lace on these.

Have a roaring birthday!

This week’s challenge at Creative Card crew is to make babies or children’s cards. Here’s my take on it. I have mixed printed and punched words for the sentiment. Used lots of stitching :P
Have a great weekend!!

My First Clear Card

Well actually my second clear card, but I forgot to take pictures of the first one before giving it away......I made this for this week’s dare at Daring Cardmakers, which is “I can see clearly now and I would love to see something clear on your card. It could be an acetate card, an acetate embellishment, a window cut in the card, clingfilm, OHP sheet, Mirror fragments - anything that shows that your card is clearly one of the best!”
I have no clue how to photograph a clear card......I hope this does look like one!
Happy Crafting!!

Sunshine!!

This card is inspired by Card Patterns sketch 3. I have flipped the image. I have used a lot of stitching on this one (my current obsession!!). I have made a rising sun, with the zigzag stitches being sun rays (I hope it does look a bit like the sun :P ). For the sun I used a hand torn semicircular piece of silk handmade paper. To create a 3-D effect I have layered the sun with thin layers of packaging foam (not obvious from the picture). The background paper is again a gift from Yvonne, she is also the guest designer at Card Patterns this week.
The sentiment is written using punched alphabets on a piece of ribbon.

Black and White Birthday Card

I cooked up this card last night....the black ribbon and the tiny pearls on the butterfly were gifted by Yvonne...

You Light up my life

This one is for Card Patterns sketch 36. I have tried different kinds of stitches on this one, zigzag of different sizes and some normal stitching too. I have used a 3-d sticker for the lamp, have also used some of my favorite corrugated cardboard....the pink ribbon for the bow is a gift from Yvonne.......the sentiment is handwritten on a quilling strip.

Thank You

I am not able to find time for crafting these days :(. Somehow managed to make this simple “Thank You” card last night....Shalini from Craft Curry had posted a beautiful decoupage jar last week. I have been trying to post a comment on her blog since then but somehow I am not able to enter the word for word verification; after many futile attempts I decided to mail my comments to her but I could not find her email id on her blog. I guess others might be facing the same problem, so Shalini if you read this please let me know how I can post comments on your blog.

Made to Order

I designed this card for a colleague who wanted to gift a birthday card to his wife from his twin babies (how sweet is that!). The babies are 7 months old (a boy and a girl). I have used my favorite corrugated cardboard and have stitched along the edges too!!
The colors are blue and pink for the baby boy and baby girl. I plan to write the name of the children on the tags on the top right corner.

Best Wishes

I got my very own sewing machine last week, yippeeeeeeeeee!!!!!! well actually I coaxed my husband to get me one ;) I'm so exciting, now I can stitch on my card to my heart's content........getting a sewing machine has been on my mind for along time, and when Divya from Creadiv got one, I also decided to get one :)
This is the first card that I stitched..nothing fancy, just some basic stitching.......have to get some practice........Here is a closer look at the stitching.I have done some quilling this time instead of using ribbon......the tree has been stamped on some handmade paper which has actual dried leaves embedded in it (its not too clear from the picture). This card is for Card Patterns Sketch 35.

Some more photo frames

I could not do much crafting this week, had been terribly busy at work, and was down with a bad cold too :(.
I had made these photo frames few days back. They have been made using beautiful handmade paper. I just love the colors and the texture of these. The red paper almost looks and feels like real brocade!!
